This is a step by step guide on creating you're own homemade incense sticks, making the process easier for you. To begin, gather your supplies and select the desired fragrance oils. For a 20-stick batch, you'll need 20 - 11" incense sticks, 12 ml of Refresher Oil Base or DPG (Dipropylene Glycol), 6 ml of Fragrance Oil, a 25 x 250 mm glass test tube, 2 disposable pipettes, a permanent marker (optional but helpful for future use), and a holder to keep the test tube upright during the process.
Step One: Take a clean, dry test tube and add 12 ml of Refresher Oil Base using a pipette. Mark the tube with a permanent marker for future reference.
Step Two: Add 6 ml of Fragrance Oil to the Refresher Oil Base. A 50/50 blend works well as a tester.
Step Three: Mix the oils together by gently shaking the test tube with your thumb covering the top.
Step Four: Insert the incense sticks into the test tube, allowing them to be covered to about the first quarter. In three days, they will absorb the mixture fully.
Step Five: Find a suitable place to store the test tubes undisturbed for three days. Test tube racks or a secure box/basket are good options to keep the tubes upright.
Step Six: After about three days, the incense sticks should be fully soaked. If they aren't soaked to the bottom, give them more time to absorb the mixture. Once ready, remove the sticks from the tube and place them on a drying rack. You can test their dryness by running them over a paper towel; there should be no residue.
Now you have your homemade incense sticks ready to use! Enjoy the delightful fragrances in your space.
