A Step-by-Step Guide to create your own mascara

Introduction:

How to make your very own mascara. Imagine having long, voluminous lashes without the worry of harsh chemicals. With a few natural ingredients and some creativity, you can create your custom mascara that nourishes and enhances your lashes. Let's dive into this fun and rewarding DIY mascara-making journey!

Ingredients you'll need:

1. Activated charcoal or cocoa powder (for black or brown color, respectively)

2. Aloe vera gel or distilled water

3. Beeswax or candelilla wax (for a vegan option)

4. Coconut oil or almond oil

5. Empty mascara tubes with wands

6. Small saucepan or heat-resistant glass bowl

7. Stirring stick or spoon

8. Fine-mesh strainer or coffee filter (optional, for a smoother texture)

Step 1: Prepare your workspace

Before you begin, ensure your workspace is clean and organized. Set up all the required ingredients and tools within easy reach to make the process smooth and enjoyable.

Step 2: Measure your ingredients

Using measuring spoons, measure 1/2 teaspoon of activated charcoal or cocoa powder (depending on the desired color) into a small saucepan or heat-resistant glass bowl.

Step 3: Melt the ingredients

Using a double boiler or by placing the glass bowl in a pot of simmering water, gently melt the beeswax and carrier oils. Stir occasionally until they are completely melted and well combined.

Step 4: Add aloe vera gel or distilled water

For a smoother and creamier mascara, add 1/4 teaspoon of aloe vera gel or distilled water to the mixture. This step will increase the mascara's spreadability and help it adhere to your lashes. Stir well to combine.

Step 5: Cool the mixture

Remove the mixture from the heat source and let it cool for a few minutes. The mixture should thicken slightly as it cools down.

Step 6: Strain the mixture (optional)

If you prefer a smoother mascara texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or a coffee filter. This step will remove any lumps or clumps, leaving you with a smoother product.

Step 7: Transfer to mascara tubes

Using a small funnel or a steady hand, carefully pour the cooled mascara mixture into empty mascara tubes. Be cautious not to spill or overfill them.

Step 8: Seal the mascara tubes

Securely close the mascara tubes with the wands. Make sure they are tightly sealed to prevent any leakage.

Step 9: Test and enjoy!

Your DIY mascara is now ready to use! Apply it to your lashes and enjoy the natural enhancement and nourishment it provides.
